Abstract
Joseph Bishop Keller was an applied mathematician of world
renown, whose research interests spanned a wide range of
topics, including wave propagation, semi-classical mechanics, geophysical fluid dynamics,
operations research, finance,
biomechanics, epidemiology,
biostatistics, and the mathematics of sports. His work
combined a love of physics,
mathematics, and natural phenomena with an irrepressible
curiosity to pursue explanations of practical and often
playful enigmas.
